Weather Delays & Closings

On a two-hour delay:

• First bell is 10:12 a.m.
• Students are tardy after 10:15 a.m.
• Morning part-time students leave at 12:13 p.m.
• Afternoon part-time students should arrive approximately 5–10 minutes before 12:49 p.m.

If you ride a bus, remember that transportation is provided by your home school district. Check your district's transportation information too.

If you rely on transportation from your home school, follow your home district's transportation schedule.

If you drive yourself or have another way to get to Tri-Rivers, check the reason for the delay and use good judgment based on conditions where you live.

If your home school is closed because of weather

Road conditions can be very different across the districts Tri-Rivers serves.

If conditions where you live prevent you from safely getting to Tri-Rivers:

• Email connections@tririvers.com to report your absence.
• Check Canvas for assignments or instructions from your teachers.

If you have safe transportation and conditions allow, you may attend Tri-Rivers.

If your home school is closed for a reason other than weather

Tri-Rivers may still be in session, and students should follow the Tri-Rivers schedule.

Your home school district controls its buses. Tri-Rivers makes its own decision about whether our campus is open, delayed or closed.

Always check the official Tri-Rivers announcement before assuming school is canceled.

Your work site may operate even when Tri-Rivers or your home school is delayed or closed.

If weather affects your ability to report to work:

• Check Canvas and any messages from your instructor.
• Contact your employer or work-site supervisor.
• Contact your instructor as directed.
• Do not assume that a school closing automatically means your employer is closed.

If Tri-Rivers is delayed, part-time students follow the Tri-Rivers delayed schedule.

Do not rely only on your home school's announcement. Your home school may be delayed or closed while Tri-Rivers remains open.

Adult Education makes its own weather decisions based on conditions affecting adult learners and individual programs. Your program may operate as scheduled, begin later or be canceled.

Yes.

Adult Education programs operate in different settings and may have different safety or scheduling considerations. CDL, healthcare, public safety and skilled trades programs may not always make the same weather decision.

Your program coordinator will communicate weather-related changes directly to current students.

Tri-Rivers may also share Adult Education weather updates through district communication channels, including social media.

Your program's status may be:

• Running as scheduled
• Delayed start
• Canceled

Follow the instructions provided by your program coordinator and any requirements from your clinical, work-site or partner location.

Do not assume that a Tri-Rivers closing automatically means another facility is closed.

Weather and road conditions can vary across the area.

Use good judgment and do not take unnecessary risks. If conditions prevent you from safely attending, contact your program coordinator as soon as possible.
