This is a web-centered program, which means part of the classes will be completed at the school and part of the classes will be completed in the privacy of your own home, via a software package and the internet.

This course is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to be a successful Pharmacy Technician.   A Pharmacy Technician is a person who works under the supervision of a pharmacist and performs pharmacy related functions.  They are employed by retail pharmacies, hospitals, and clinics.

     - Minimum 200 Mghz Pentium II Processor
     - Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP/Vista
     - CD-ROM Drive
     - 15 Bit VGA Monitor (700x 800 Resolution)
     - Sound Card
     - Internet Explorer 4.0 (or above) & internet connection

Upon successful completion of the program and a 32-hour unpaid internship, each student will be qualified to take the PTCB (pharmacy technician certification board) examination.

Pre-Entrance Testing Dates

Classes include: Learning Strategies, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Computer, Math for Meds, Core Pharmacy Component* completed online, Basic Spanish for a Medical Setting, Customer Service, and Resume.

The tuition for each payment period(quarter) is due BEFORE the first day of the payment period.  Applicants are encouraged to begin to save towards their education even before acceptance to the program.

The textbooks for the Pharmacy Technician Program will be ordered by the school and available for pick up date in September (the date will be specified later) or given to each student at orientation.

Unless a double payment has inadvertently been made, no refund will be issued to a student without the student first submitting a request in writing to the director explaining the extenuating circumstances and proof wherever possible.  Any refunds that are ultimately issued may take two weeks to process.

 

Certification testing is included with the cost of tuition for those who have successfully completed the program

The successful candidate may achieve certification in CPR, First Aid, Phlebotomy, EKG, Nurse Aide, Home Health Aide, and Coding and Billing.

  • Application Procedure: A signed and completed application, $95 non-refundable fee (fee covers application and pre-entrance testing) and high school transcript or GED are required in order to sit for the pre-entrance examination.

  • Pre-Entrance exam consists of the ACT Workkeys test, which is a series of three tests evaluating basic academic skills of reading, math and locating information. Allow three hours for the pre-entrance exam time. Test must be scheduled in advance.

  • $200 admission fee is due to hold your position in the program. Tuition is due prior to start of program.

    Once accepted into the class, a physical examination is required. Mantoux test, 2-Step (TB test), Rubella, and Varicella immunizations are required. The Hepatitis B vaccine must be started prior to Clinicals. Physical forms are due on Oct. 31, 2008. Immunization records are due the first day of class.
