Over the 2000-2010
period, the Ohio economy is projected to create more than
660,000 new jobs!
Health Occupations
will account for approximately 1 in 7 new jobs for Ohioans due
to the needs of an aging population with a longer life
expectancy.
Workers with higher levels of training usually will have more
options in the job market and better prospects for obtaining
the higher paying jobs.
Less than one-third of the job openings in the Ohio economy
are expected to be generated by employment growth. The
remaining two-thirds stem from the need to replace existing
workers who leave the labor force.
